Today’s computers are amazing, no doubt about it. But before computers could instantly render images and sound with perfect clarity, each computer had an aesthetic of its own. You could tell computers apart by how they looked or sounded. These limitations created a class of computer art that lives on today in the form of pixel art and technical demos and 8-bit games. For an aficionado of this retro aesthetic, the urge to collect and share working examples of original computer hardware is irresistable. And this is how I find myself collecting vintage computers!

In support of others who have similar interests, I’ve collected my experiences repairing and working with many different computers. Hopefully they’re of use to you in learning about and maintaining these beautiful old machines!
